Working principle
Tecar Therapy is a method of Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive, which is able to stimulate the passage of energy in biological tissues and to activate the natural processes of repair and recovery.
Diathermy stimulates tissues endogenous heat production through the interaction of electromagnetic field and tissue. The heat is increased in a uniform controlled way. The electromagnetic interaction results in a ionic flow and consequently increases blood flow in the treated area. This process stimulates endogenous substances release (in particular cortisol and endorphins) that are necessary to reduce inflammations, pain and edemas.
In Capacitive mode, the higher frequency current mainly flows through the capacitive parts of the human body (muscles, etc). The Capacitive mode concentrates the energy mainly on the soft tissues such as muscles and areas with high liquid content.
In Resistive mode, the lower frequency current flows through the resistive parts of the body (bones, ligaments, important tendons etc.). The resistive mode concentrates the energy mainly on the hard tissues, such as joints, ligaments, tendons and bones.
